WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:
BONES: Ed J. and Cpt. Kechu went for permit ½ day then settled into bonefish- 40 fish to the boat in just 4 hours! LeGail – first bonefish, Elisa – first bonefish, Larry - first bonefish, Bill – first bonefish, Theresa- first bonefish, Deborah - first bonefish. Our bonefish continue to be cooperative.
PERMIT: Cpt Erlindo and guest John landed a permit, Peter on the same boat would have had one had his backing not bound up half way through the fight….Ed with Cpt Emir landed a permit as part of their grand slam. Several boats reported multiple shots at permit, a few follows, a bite or 2 but no others landed.
TARPON: Waters still pretty rough for tarpon. Nick our Australian friend went home with lots of stories of hookups but none to the boat. John and Captain Erlindo, Jake and Cpt Tomas, Mike and Cpt SInoe all landed tarpon on The 4th of July!! Nice weather helps!! The next day the water at Savannah was a bit cloudy so not luck for the fly fishers. Bill and Cpt Carlos did land a nice 35 pounder on a live sardine!! Ed & Steve with Cpt Emir both landed tarpon on consecutive casts as they hit Savannah flats on Friday just after the tide changed.
SNOOK: Snook were not targeted.

Captain Emir with the Grand Slam for Ed!
REPORT SUMMARY:
Happy Fourth of July! Grand Slam for returning guest Ed and his favorite guide, Cpt. Emir! The lodge was pretty busy this week with small groups and couples from all over. The fishing was still affected by weather - just a little too windy or a little too cloudy. Nice weather - just not perfect. Most Improved Caster goes to Elisa (also a happy honeymooner!) --Ed.

- Clear to partly cloudy skies most of the week, tending to be hazy in the morning and clearing as the day goes on. A few rainstorms at night and an isolated thunderstorm here or there and were easy to avoid.
- Air Temp:
- Highs in the mid 80s to low 90s, and lows in the high 70s. It felt hotter with the very low winds. Winds: Out of the east/northeast 10-15 early in the week, with a 5-10 mph day on Wednesday and Saturday.

- Low 80s F in most areas, mid 80s on some flats!
