Oct. 22nd thru Oct. 29th Fishing Report
WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING
The week started out tough with some wind and clouds but then cleared and turned into a beautiful week of fishing and fun. All anglers went after bonefish and experienced lots of success. Several fishers landed close to twenty bonefish a day. Good to see the sun again!
Permit around all week as well. Anglers were seeing multiple Permit and landing a couple that reached the twenty-pound range. Bryan and Clint each had one in a single day of fishing. One of our repeat guests is still patiently waiting to land his first Permit. You will get them next time for sure!
Tarpon are rolling in the lagoon and anglers are taking advantage. On the flats and out back the tarpon are very happy to accommodate the fly angler with an aggressive bite. Aniel managed to land an 80-pound fish and his first Belize tarpon. Fishing partner and friend Bryan also got in to a few. Way to go guys!
Squirrelfish, snapper, jacks, barracuda, grouper, ladyfish and some snook.
No Grand Slams this week.
Flies that worked:
Bonefish: Christmas Island Specials in orange, pearl and pink size 6 & 8
Permit: Peterson Shrimp, Mantis shrimp and Avalon crabs and Squimp.
Tarpon:Toads and bunnies, black on black, red on black, tan and olive are all great.
Finally some awesome weather this week and the fish and anglers love it.
