My trip to el Pescador gave me the perfect opportunity to "double dip"! I no longer need to choose between a great fishing vacation for myself or a wonderful family vacation.

Although I chose el Pescador because it is is known first and foremost as a world-class fishing destination, they go out of their way to cater to the non-angling guest. They offer free use of kayaks and bicycles for exploring the Caye, they have their own dive shop, and offer trips to Maya ruins, zip lining, etc.

I just wanted to thank you all for a wonderful experience. For me the trip was made when I made the disconnect from work and home and walked into your tropical oasis. Throw in a good friend like Marcos, some rum, and a chance to catch a fish and it was hard to beat. Your staff is excellent. Everyone from the groundskeepers to the fishing guides were extraordinary. All knew my name, drink preferences, food preferences, and casting ability within twenty four hours. I am a firm believer in fishing being variable. There is no “average” experience. It depends on conditions. The key for success is to focus on those variables that are controllable. Weather, fish attitudes, water clarity, tides, etc are all uncontrollable. You guys have certainly mastered all you can control and influence and have a first class operation. I hope to be back.

We came to El Pescador for the first time in 1986. We found the then-owners warm and eager to offer their amazing fishery and create an experience for anglers and their families that would be meaningful.

When the Gentry family took over 10 years ago, they built on this tradition of creating a welcoming "home away from home" experience for serious anglers and adventure travelers, as well as adding many amenities - villa accommodations, pools, etc.

It goes with out saying that we love El Pescador, as we have just completed our 20th consecutive trip. More importantly, this was our best trip ever!! Judy and George M.

I am not usually in the habit of contacting holiday destinations upon my return to the UK, but I thought I would make an exception here to thank you and your staff for making my week so enjoyable.

Our group of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 day stay at El Pescador. The graciousness and friendliness of the staff truly exceeded expectations. None of us had ever much more than seen a fly rod much less cast one, but between the Orvis help in planning and your guides help in executing, we actually caught fish and learned quite a bit about this type of sport fishing as we progressed. It was really fun. When we return with our group next year we'll continue to work on our fly fishing skills, but we'll be sure to try some of the other activities too - such as snorkeling, inner tubing and exploring. I might add that the weather couldn't have been better. Everything was quite splendid.
