Beginning with the 2006-2007 season, El Pescador pledges donations to Green Reef NGO on behalf of the their guests.
A proponent of Belize ecology, El Pescador, fishing and eco-adventure resort, has moved further in its commitment to protection of the environment. The disastrous effect of green house gas produced by aircraft has become the focal point of this concern. Each aircraft traveling round-trip from the U.S. to Belize emits approximately half a ton of CO2. The El Pescador family has decided to make a donation, based on the pro-rated passenger cost of these emissions on behalf of their guests to Green Reef Environmental Educational and Coastal Research Institute. Contributions to the non-governmental, non-profit organization are in keeping with El Pescador’s belief in rational sustainable use of Belize’s atolls and natural resources.
El Pescador is a serene and gracious establishment, well known as a world-class fishing destination. In addition they offer eco-adventures which take full advantage of Belize’s exotic flora and fauna. Snorkeling, manatee watching, cave-tubing and zip-lining are just a small sampling of the activities available. The El Pescador philosophy is to protect and nurture friendship, adventure and the environment. It is the association with Green Reef and its commitment to environment that establishes El Pescador as a leader in the practice of progressive eco-tourism.
