Week In Review

This past week brought fantastic fishing conditions to El Pescador! We enjoyed sunny skies and light breezes all week long—perfect weather for sight fishing on the flats. Many of our guests were new to saltwater fly fishing and thrilled to land their first Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon. Even more exciting, four anglers achieved the coveted Grand Slam, catching all three species in a single day. In addition to the big three, we also saw a variety of other species caught, including Snapper, Barracuda, and Jacks.

What Guests were Catching

Bonefish

Bonefish: Excellent

  • 340 Bonefish were landed this week, most in the 2-4 lb range.

Permit

  • Permit: Good
    • 15 Permit were landed, a strong number for this challenging species.
  • Tarpon

    Tarpon: Good

    • 12 Tarpon landed, with many more hook-ups and sightings.

    Other Species

    Snook: Slow
